University of Albany's Brooke Stanley Named America East Conference Volleyball Setter of the Week - UAlbany Sports 2011


Cambridge, Mass. - Senior setter Brooke Stanley was named the America East Conference Volleyball Setter of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. Stanley, who was named the MVP of Fordham's Rose Hill Classic, led the Great Danes to an undefeated weekend with victories over Colorado, Siena and the host Rams.

Stanley takes home her first weekly award since returning from an injury that sidelined her for the entire 2010 season. She averaged 11.40 assists per set over the weekend, adding 1.20 kills and 1.40 digs. She also served up six aces, including four in the finale against Siena, and quarterbacked the team to a .264 hitting percentage. Stanley produced 37 assists, five kills, four digs and two service aces in the opener against Fordham, and followed up with 32 assists, two digs and one kill against Colorado. In the finale against crosstown-rival Siena, Stanley totaled 45 assists, six kills and eight digs to go along with a .308 hitting percentage
