Quintel Gates of the University of Albany Selected As America East Conference Men's Soccer Player Of The Week - UAlbany Sports 2011

Cambridge, Mass.- UAlbany's Quintel Gates has been selected as the America East Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week, as announced on Monday, Sept. 12 by the conference office.

Gates was able to tack on the game-winning goal in Sunday's match versus Buffalo. Gates set up teammate Brandon Wilson for a shot, only to pick up the loose ball after Wilson's shot rebounded off the Bulls' goalkeeper, which he then redirected into the net to win the game in the 100th minute. The Bay Shore, N.Y. native has eight points on the season and a three-game goal streak dating back to Aug. 29. He is tied for the league lead in goals with four and ranks second in the conference standings with eight points.
