University of Albany Field Hockey Remains No. 16 in the Kookaburra/NFHCA Divison I National Coaches Poll - UAlbany Sports 2011


Albany, N.Y. - University at Albany held on to its national top-20 ranking as they remain at No. 16 in the Kookaburra/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Poll after completing the second week of regular season.

UAlbany (4-2) rallied for a 4-3 overtime victory over Yale this past Sunday. Trailing 3-1 late in regulation, Daphne Voormolen and Corrine McConville each tallied to draw their team even. McConville registered the equalizer off a crisp pass from Voormolen with less than two minutes remaining. Christina Patrick scored the game-winner in the 76th minute to complete the Great Danes' comeback. Patrick and McConville lead the team in scoring with 13 (five goals and three assists) and 12 points (five goals and two assists), respectively.

Paw Prints: The Great Danes will look to notch two more wins this weekend as they host Davidson at Alumni Turf Field on Saturday at 1:00 p.m., a contest that has been moved up one hour from its original start. UAlbany travels to Hempstead, N.Y. to faceoff with Hofstra on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
