UAlbany's Kathryn Fanning Captures America East Women's XC Performer of the Week

Cambridge, Mass. - University at Albany sophomore Kathryn Fanning has been chose America East Conference Female Cross Country Performer of the Week as announced on Tuesday, September 20 by the conference office.

Fanning, hailing from Manlius, N.Y., tallied her second top-five finish in as many races, this past weekend at Iona's Meet of Champions. Fanning clocked in at 22:33.36 in the 6,000-meter women's course, good for fourth place overall among 202 racers and a career-best time for this distance. The Great Danes went on to take fourth overall in the 19-team field. Her first top-five finish came during the season-opener at the Monmouth Kick-Off Classic on September 3 as she won the race.

Paw Prints: UAlbany's men's and women's teams will return to the course on Saturday, October 1 at the Greater Louisville Classic at Sawyer State Park, Louisville, Kentucky.
