University of Albany Football's Herb Glass Selected Northeast Conference Special Teams Player of the Week - UAlbany Sports 2011

Somerset, N.J. - University at Albany's Herb Glass has been selected Northeast Conference Special Teams Player of the Week in football, as announced on Monday, Sept. 5 by the conference office.

Glass, a senior placekicker, made a pair of 40-plus yard field goals and all four point-after attempts in last Saturday's 37-34 overtime loss against Colgate. He drilled a 41-yard kick on the first possession of the extra period to put his team ahead, before the Raiders scored a touchdown on their overtime series. Glass also made a 48-yarder in the first quarter, tying the third longest in program history. In addition, Glass kicked off six times and had a career-high three touchbacks.

A native of Miller Place, N.Y., Glass became the school's all-time scoring placekicker, breaking a mark previously held by Bryan Bagstad (1999-2001). Glass is fifth on UAlbany's overall career scoring chart with 174 points. He also tied Jason Fralicker (2006-07) for first place in career field goals with 28. Glass was also recognized by College Football Performance Awards in the honorable mention category for Division I FCS placekicker of the week.
