Albany, N.Y. – The University at Albany field hockey team moved up one spot to #17 in the STX/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll, as announced on Tuesday afternoon. It is the highest placing for the Great Danes, who have been ranked for three straight weeks.

UAlbany (7-3) went undefeated in two games last week. The Great Danes defeated Colgate, 6-1, on the road on Wednesday before claiming a 3-0 win over Holy Cross at home on Saturday. Freshman midfielder Sam Daly recorded three goals and one assist in the two games en route to being named the America East Conference Rookie of the Week.

The Great Danes kick off conference play this weekend, visiting Maine on Friday before hosting non-conference opponent Massachusetts on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. on Alumni Turf Field.
