#24 William and Mary edged UAlbany Women's Soccer, 2-0

Williamsburg, Va. – Claire Zimmeck tallied in the 29th minute to lead No. 24 William and Mary to a 2-0 non-conference victory over UAlbany in women’s soccer action on Wednesday night at Albert-Daly Field.

The Tribe, who are ranked 24th nationally by Soccer America and receiving votes in the NSCAA poll, tallied again at the 62:30 mark to seal the victory when Mary MacKenzie Grier finished a shot from 10 yards out. Danielle Collins earned the assist on the play.

William and Mary (5-2) held UAlbany to just two shots in the contest, while recording 26.

Maria Liguori made eight saves in goal for the Great Danes, while Meghan Walker earned the shutout for the Tribe, before being replaced by Grace Barnard in the 79th minute.

UAlbany (3-3-2) will return home to host Delaware State in a non-conference match on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at University Field.
