Somerset, N.J. – With the Northeast Conference beginning its 12th football season, the league announced plans to televise a pair of games on Northeast regional outlets.

The first game airs on October 27th when defending NEC champion Monmouth travels to Central Connecticut State. FSN-New York will broadcast the contest live at 11:00 am. On November 3rd, NEC preseason favorite Albany will play host to Robert Morris for a 1:00 pm kickoff to air on FSN-Pittsburgh and Time Warner Albany (TW3). These games will reach over 12 million households in the Northeast, plus those satellite subscribers nationally with multi-sport packages.

The 2007 season marks the fifth straight that the NEC has aired football games as part of its extensive regional sports package. This coming winter, the league will air over 20 men’s and women’s basketball games.

“We’re happy to be able to feature four of our top football programs in this year’s package,” said Brenda Weare, NEC Commissioner. “Both Monmouth and Central Connecticut State were both ranked nationally last year and should be in the NEC title hunt once again in 2007. Albany topped the NEC preseason coaches’ poll, while Robert Morris is expected to be a strong contender.”

Paul Dottino enters his fifth season as the play-by-play voice of NEC football. He is also a member of the NEC basketball broadcast team and the New York Giants beat reporter for 1050 ESPN Radio in New York and for Sirius' NFL Radio Channel. Steve Jackson - Hofstra’s all-time leading receiver - will provide color analysis. Eric Singer is the Producer of NEC football telecasts.

The Northeast Conference consists of 11 institutions of higher learning located throughout five states and is celebrating its 26th year as an NCAA Division I collegiate athletic association. The NEC began sponsoring football at the FCS level in 1996, and has since increased its membership from five to seven institutions. Central Connecticut State, Monmouth, Robert Morris, Sacred Heart, Saint Francis (PA) and Wagner are full-time NEC members who sponsor football, and they are joined by associate member Albany. Duquesne will become the eighth member of the football league in 2008.
