University of Albany's Joe Resetarits Named America East Lacrosse Rookie of the Week for Third Time - UAlbany Sports 2009

Cambridge, Mass. – University at Albany’s Joe Resetarits has been tabbed America East Conference Rookie of the Week in men’s lacrosse, as announced on Monday, March 23 by the conference office. Resetarits had three goals and one assist in an 18-11 loss to No. 5 Princeton on March 20.

Resetarits, a freshman from Hamburg, N.Y., has netted three or more goals against four opponents this season. He is third on the team in scoring with 18 points (15 goals, 3 assists), plus has a .455 shooting percentage.

Despite last Friday’s loss to fifth-ranked Princeton, UAlbany is still among the national top-20 teams in both lacrosse polls. The Great Danes are tied for 20th in the USILA Coaches’ Poll, while Nike/Inside Lacrosse has them listed at No. 18. Brian Caufield, a sophomore attack, is among the NCAA Division I scoring leaders at 4.33 goals per game. Caufield has 14 goals and 12 assists this season. UAlbany (4-2) opens America East play at Binghamton on March 28 at 7:00 p.m.
