Cambridge, Mass. -- University at Albany’s Joe Resetarits has been selected as America East Conference Rookie of the Week in men’s lacrosse, as announced by the conference office on Monday, March 2.
Resetarits, a freshman from Hamburg, N.Y., scored a career-high four goals, including two in the late stages of the fourth quarter in an 8-7 double-overtime win over Siena on Feb. 26. He found the net with a sidearm delivery that closed the gap to 7-6 with 3:40 remaining and drew his team with three-tenths of a second to play in regulation. UAlbany goalkeeper John Carroll sent a desperation pass into the Siena box and Resetarits came up with the bouncing ball and put it in the back of the net to beat the horn.
Resetarits was a two-time All-American on the high school level and participated in the Under Armour All-Star Game. His brother, Frank, is second on UAlbany’s all-time scoring list. The Great Danes are home on Friday, March 6 against Delaware at 4:00 p.m.
