Albany, N.Y. – Senior midfielder Michelle Simpson has been chosen to play in the 2008 National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I Senior All-Star Game, as announced by the NFHCA on Wednesday afternoon. Simpson is one of 38 players from across the country chosen to play in the contest.
Simpson, who leads UAlbany this season with nine goals and 10 assists for 28 total points, was an NFHCA Division I Second Team All-American last season after earning America East Conference First Team accolades for the second straight season. Simpson is currently ranked fourth on the UAlbany career goals chart with 36 and is also fourth on the all-time assists chart with 25. She has also moved into third place on the career points list, accumulating 97 total points in her three seasons with the UAlbany program.
Simpson will join America East counterparts Maegen Luce (Vermont) and Kim Striegler (Vermont) in the all-star game, which will take place on Saturday, Nov. 22 at the University of Louisville at 7:30 p.m.
