Cambridge, Mass. – Senior defender Michele Polizois was chosen America East Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. She earned the honor for the third time this season.
Polizois recorded a hat trick in the Great Danes’ 4-1 conference victory over Fairfield on Oct. 18. She scored the game winner with a penalty corner goal just before halftime and added two more goals in the second half off a penalty corner and a penalty stroke. Polizois leads the team and the conference with 11 goals on the season and has recorded five assists for 27 total points. She leads the conference in shots with 99 and game-winning goals with four.
UAlbany (8-9, AE 4-1) continues America East play on Saturday, hosting defending conference champion Boston U. at Alumni Turf Field at 1 p.m.
