Cambridge, Mass. - Senior setter Brooke Stanley was named the America East Conference Volleyball Setter of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. It is Stanley's fifth weekly award this season.
Stanley led the Great Danes to two sweeps last week, as the team defeated Colgate, 3-0, in non-league action on Wednesday before posting a 3-0 win over Binghamton in America East play on Sunday. The native of Hendersonville, N.C. averaged 12.33 assists, the highest in the conference for the week, and led the team to a .356 hitting percentage. She also recorded 1.50 digs and 1.17 kills, along with two service aces on the week.
Against Colgate, Stanley finished with 38 assists, four kills, four digs and an ace while the Great Danes hit .360 as a team. Versus the Bearcats at home, she tallied 36 assists, three kills, five digs, two blocks and an ace. One of Stanley's two blocks against Binghamton was a solo block in the second set that gave the Great Danes a commanding 17-12 lead. She leads the conference with 11.03 assists per set this season, while UAlbany leads the league with a team hitting percentage of .232.
