Brooke Stanley Named America East Volleyball Setter of the Week for Third Time


Cambridge, Mass. - Brooke Stanley was named the America East Conference Setter of the Week for the third time in the last four weeks, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. Stanley garnered the honor in back-to-back weeks in September, before guiding UAlbany to a 3-0 start in conference play.

Stanley quarterbacked the Great Danes to league wins over Stony Brook and UMBC over the weekend. UAlbany posted a .262 hitting percentage, a league high, while Stanley averaged a conference-best 11.00 assists per set. The senior setter also averaged 1.88 digs and 1.00 kills per set in the two matches. In a three-set sweep of Stony Brook on Friday, Stanley handed out 41 assists and added seven digs, two kills and a block assist as the Great Danes hit .333 as a team. In a comeback win over UMBC on Sunday, the native of Hendersonville, N.C. totaled 47 assists, eight digs, six kills and a block assist, while UAlbany hit .220 in the match.
