University of Albany's Tegan Brown Records Hat Trick to Lead UAlbany Field Hockey Over St. Francis, 6-0 - UAlbany Sports 2009

Albany, N.Y. - Freshman forward Tegan Brown scored three goals, including the gamewinner, to lead UAlbany to a 6-0 win over St. Francis in non-conference field hockey action on Friday evening at Alumni Turf Field.

Brown scored her first goal of the game, which would end up being the game-winning shot, just three minutes into the contest. With the Great Danes' first penalty corner, Brown took assists from Jess Lindsey and Nicole Savage and smashed the ball into the back of the cage. Lindsey doubled the total 10 minutes later, as she deflected a shot from Suzy Clephane past St. Francis goalkeeper Sara Dittmann.

Brown struck again in the 16th minute, as Lindsey passed the ball out to stopper Ashlyn Bach at the top of the circle. Brown fired a shot into the cage to give UAlbany a 3-0 lead. The Great Danes would score two more times in the first half. Freshman Inge Baijens smashed a reverse-stick shot from the top of the circle in the 32nd minute, before assisting on Megan Springmeyer's tally less than a minute later with a crossing pass in front of the cage. Lindsey and Savage picked up assists again on the final goal of the game in the 57th minute, as Brown completed her hat trick on a penalty corner.
