Philadelphia, Pa. - Sophomore forward Christina Patrick scored the lone goal to lead UAlbany to a 1-0 win over Temple in non-conference field hockey action at Geasey Field on Sunday afternoon.
After a back-and-forth first half of play that led to a 0-0 halftime score, UAlbany took control in the second and got on the board four minutes into the stanza. After the Great Danes were unable to capitalize on a penalty corner, Suzy Clephane gathered the ball and passed across to Patrick, who tipped the ball into the cage past Owl goalkeeper Sarah Dalrymple.
The Great Danes outshot Temple, 13-8, and held a 12-1 advantage in penalty corners, not allowing the Owls a corner attempt until late in the second half. Christine Hoffman and Kristi Troch each played a half in the cage for UAlbany, combining for three saves. Dalrymple stopped eight shots in the cage for Temple (3-5).
UAlbany (5-2) will return to action on Wednesday, visiting Colgate at 6 p.m.
