Cambridge, Mass. - Freshman midfielder Tegan Brown has been named the America East Conference Field Hockey Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference on Tuesday afternoon.
Brown was responsible for both of UAlbany's goals in the Great Danes' 2-0 victory over Hofstra on Saturday, Sept. 5. Brown scored her first collegiate goal, an unassisted mark, with a hard shot from the top of the circle in the 18th minute to give UAlbany a 1-0 lead. Brown then doubled the lead early in the second half off a penalty corner. With assists from Jess Lindsey and Nicole Savage, Brown blasted the ball into the back of the cage to seal the UAlbany win. The Great Danes have run off three consecutive wins to start the season.
