Cambridge, Mass. - Senior defender Jess Lindsey was named the America East Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. It is the first award of the 2009 season, and is the first weekly award of her career.
Lindsey, who entered the season as UAlbany's career assists leader, added another to her total in Sunday's 2-0 win over Radford. Lindsey also recorded a goal in the Great Danes' season-opening win over Bucknell. She helped the Great Danes, who were receiving votes in the 2009 Kookaburra/NFHCA Preseason Poll, to the league's only undefeated record over opening weekend, and paces the team with three total points.
