Gainesville, Fla. – Freshman Daniel Avery turned in the top time in the program’s Division I history in the 110-meter high hurdles to lead UAlbany on the first day of the Florida Relays at Percy Beard Track Facility on Friday, April 4.
Avery sprinted to an IC4A and NCAA East Regional-qualifying time of 13.96 seconds to win his heat of the 110-meter high hurdles and place 12th overall. Junior Jean Juste raced to an IC4A-qualifying time of 14.49 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles.
In the long jump, sophomore Valete Graham placed third with a leap of 23-feet, 1.25-inches in the “B” section of the event. The Great Danes quartet of Raphael Jean-Baptiste, Drew Harrison, Torshiro Jenkins and Jeffery Barnes placed ninth in the 4x200-meter relay in a time of 1:27.44.
