Cambridge, Mass. – University at Albany’s Brian Caufield and Joe Resetarits are candidates for the America East Conference 2009 Men’s Lacrosse Fans’ Choice Player of the Year. Caufield, a sophomore attackman from Bay Shore, N.Y., ranks ninth among the NCAA Division I leaders in scoring at 3.67 per game. A first-team all-conference standout as a freshman, he has 22 goals and 22 assists this spring. Caufield had a season-high seven points vs. Massachusetts and a season-best five assists at No. 4 Syracuse. Resetarits is one of the top freshman goal scorers in the nation with 28. He has totaled three or more points against nine opponents this season. UAlbany (7-5, AE 3-1) has qualified for the America East postseason tournament for the eighth consecutive year.
