Albany, N.Y. – Seniors Charlotte Tatler and Kim Weltman recorded singles victories to lead UAlbany to a 7-0 sweep of Siena in non-conference tennis action on Wednesday afternoon at University Courts. Tatler posted a 6-0, 6-0 win over Jes Asselin at No. 3 singles, while Weltman recorded a comeback victory in the second position over Jasleen Sandhu, falling 6-3 in the first set before going 7-5 in the second and 10-7 in the tiebreak.
Holly Smith also won her singles match without dropping a set, going 6-0, 6-0 against Nicole Ross at the fourth spot. At No. 5 singles, Laine Mackey defeated Lauren Garbade, 6-0, 6-1. Aubrey Brooks completed the singles sweep for the Great Danes, posting a 6-1, 6-2 win over Dinka Keric in the sixth spot. No. 1 player Susan Ma won her match by default.
In doubles action, Ma and Mackey defeated Sarah Mayer and Asselin, 8-5 and Tatler and Smith teamed up to record an 8-4 win over Sandhu and Ross. Weltman and Brooks combined for an 8-2 win over Garbade and Keric in the third doubles spot to earn the point for the Great Danes.
UAlbany (16-3) will wrap up the regular season on Saturday, visiting Binghamton for an America East Conference match starting at 1 p.m.
