Cambridge, Mass. -- For the second year in a row, fans of America East basketball will select a America East Men's Basketball Fans' Choice Player of the Year. UAlbany's Brian Lillis, one of 10 players at the Division I level who leads his team in points, rebounds and assists, is a one of three finalists for the award.
Lillis, a 6'5" senior from Urbandale, Iowa, UMBC's Jay Greene and Vermont's Marqus Blakely are finalists for the 2007-08 America East Men's Basketball Fans' Choice Player of the Year. Lillis, Greene and Blakely were the top three vote getters in preliminary voting, which brought in over 1,500 votes and closed Friday night.
The Fans' Choice final poll will be posted until 12 noon on Monday, March 3. Only one vote per person and e-mail address will be counted. Preliminary votes and finals votes will be added together to determine the 2007-08 America East Men's Basketball Fans' Choice Player of the Year, which will be announced by the conference office via release on AmericaEast.com on Thursday, March 6.
