Cambridge, Mass. – Freshman midfielder Anouk Vandenberg was named the America East Conference Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Vandenberg earned her first weekly award of the season after finishing with one goal and two assists in the Great Danes’ 5-1 win over non-conference opponent Cornell on Saturday. Vandenberg, who has a team-high 10 assists on the season, assisted on both of Michele Polizois’ goals in the first half, including the gamewinner just before halftime. She then scored her first collegiate goal to complete scoring in the second half.
UAlbany (12-3, AE 3-0) visits America East rival Boston U. on Saturday at 1 p.m. before hosting non-conference opponent Rutgers on Sunday at 3 p.m.
