Cambridge, Mass. - University of Albany's Casey Wright was named the America East Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the second time this season, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. Freshman setter Kaley Jacobson was named the conference's setter of the week, the first time she earned the award after two rookie of the week honors. A UAlbany player has won player of the week three out of the first four weeks of the season.

Wright was named the most valuable player of the Lamar Tournament over the weekend after averaging 4.60 kills, 1.50 digs and 1.50 blocks per set to go along with a .379 hitting percentage. Her kills, blocks and hitting percentage were all the top marks from across the conference. She recorded a career-high 25 kills in the match, along with nine digs, eight blocks and a .449 hitting percentage. She also finished with double-digit kills in a 3-0 sweep of Louisiana-Lafayette, smashing 14 kills on .357 hitting. She earned all-tournament team honors for the third time this season.
