Cambridge, Mass. - University at Albany's Brittany MacFawn has been chosen the America East Conference Softball Pitcher of the week, as announced by the league office on Monday, March 28. MacFawn,a right-hander from Orlando, Fla., helped lead the Great Danes to a 2-1 record at last weekend's Delaware State Tournament.
MacFawn went 1-0 in two appearances at the tournament, starting one game and entering another contest as a reliever. The freshman hurler scattered just three hits in the two outings, issuing two walks and striking out 12 in eight innings of action. MacFawn came in for the final inning against Delaware State, and did not allow a hit or a run, while fanning one batter. In a complete-game effort against Colgate, MacFawn recorded the shutout, allowing three hits and striking out 11 Raider batters. She did not allow a walk in the 1-0 victory.
