Sarah Iannone Leads University of Albany Tennis to 6-1 Win on the Road at St. Peter's - UAlbany Sports 2011

Jersey City, N.J. - Sarah Iannone recorded a comeback win at No. 4 singles and teamed up with Rachel Drake for a win at No. 3 doubles to lead UAlbany to a 6-1 win over St. Peter's in non-conference tennis action on Tuesday afternoon.

Iannone lost the first set of her match to Ivana Grbelia, 4-6, but came back to post 6-1 and 6-2 wins in the final two sets to claim the victory. Susan Ma defeated Alexandria Livingston, 6-4, 6-2, at top singles, while Aubrey Brooks posted a 6-4, 6-1 win over Joniesa Williams at the third position. Melissa Coughlin and Rachel Drake also recorded wins at fifth and sixth singles, respectively. Coughlin defeated Vanessa Vogel, 6-1, 6-0, while Drake posted a 6-4, 6-1 win over Jessica Nowgrodzki. St. Peter's lone victory came at No. 2 singles, as Kyrsten Chen recorded a three set victory over Laine Mackey.

In doubles action, the Great Danes swept all three matches to earn the point. Ma and Brooks teamed up for an 8-2 win over Livingston and Grbelja at the No. 1 spot, while Mackey and Coughlin teamed up for an 8-6 win over Chen and Williams in the second position. Iannone and Drake completed the sweep with an 8-2 victory over Vogel and Nowgrozki in the No. 3 spot.
