West Hartford, Conn. - University at Albany's Tim Ambrose is one of three Great Danes voted to the 2011 All-America East Conference Men's Basketball Team, as announced on Friday, March 4 at the conference's annual awards ceremony, held at the University of Hartford's Harry Jack Gray Conference Center.

Ambrose was chosen to the first team in voting the league's head coaches. Mike Black and Logan Aronhalt earned third-team all-conference recognition. Luke Devlin was picked to the America East all-rookie team. Billy Allen and Jacob Iati joined Aronhalt on the conference all-academic squad.

A native of Brentwood, N.Y., Ambrose is the fifth UAlbany player to be named to the first team. He is second in the conference in scoring at 16.4 points per game, plus is averaging 5.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists. Ambrose, who was a member of all-league third team as a sophomore, is fourth on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,558 points. He and Jamar Wilson are the only Great Danes to account for 1,400 points, 500 rebounds and 250 assists during a career.

Aronhalt, a sophomore who hails from Zanesville, Ohio, is seventh among the league leaders in scoring with a 14.7 average. He adds 4.8 rebounds per game and has made 71 three-point field goals. Aronhalt has scored in double figures 22 times this season. Black, a member of last year's America East all-rookie team, is averaging 12.4 points, 2.9 assists and 2.0 rebounds. The sophomore guard from Chicago, Ill. ended the regular season with a career-high 26 points in an overtime win at Maine.

Devlin, a 6-foot-8 forward from Sydney, Australia, is the seventh UAlbany freshman to be selected to the all-rookie team. He contributes 7.3 points and 6.7 rebounds, ranking eighth in the conference, and has six double-doubles this season. Allen, who has a dual major in physics and mathematics, makes his second consecutive appearance on the America East all-academic team. Aronhalt, who was named to the Capital One District I Academic All-America squad last month, and Iati, are studying human biology and business administration, respectively.

UAlbany has produced 16 All-America East selections since joining the conference in 2001-02. UAlbany also had three players chosen to the 2005-06 and 2006-07 all-conference teams. The Great Danes meet Stony Brook in the America East Championship's quarterfinal round on Saturday at 12:05 p.m.
