Durham, N.H. - Teresa Coppiellie recorded a team-high 16 kills and added two blocks to lead UAlbany to a 3-1 win over New Hampshire in America East Conference volleyball action on Friday evening at Lundholm Gymnasium. The Great Danes won the match with set scores of 25-20, 19-25, 25-20 and 25-17.
Coppiellie tallied one of UAlbany's nine service aces in the match, to go along with eight digs and a .326 hitting percentage. Casey Wright added 13 kills for the Great Danes and put up four total blocks, while Traci Vandegrift added eight kills and nine digs. Libero Laurie Gonzalez finished with a match-high 20 digs, while setter Abbey Wexel totaled 38 assists and six digs, along with two service aces.
New Hampshire was led by Amy Keding, who recorded a match-high 18 kills and four block assists. The Wildcats had three players with double-digit digs, led by Lauren Laquerre with 13. Setter Sara Heldman finished with a double-double of 39 assists and 12 digs, along with six kills. Jayde Hustable was the final player with 11 digs for New Hampshire (9-16, AE 4-6).
UAlbany (17-7, AE 7-2) will return to action on Saturday, visiting Providence in America East Conference action at 5 p.m.
