Providence, R.I. - Teresa Coppiellie led the UAlbany offense for the second straight match, recording 14 kills to lead the Great Danes to a 3-0 sweep of Providence in America East Conference volleyball action on Saturday afternoon at Mullaney Gymnasium. The Great Danes won the match with set scores of 25-18, 25-12 and 25-14.
Along with her match-high kill total, Coppiellie hit .406 in the match to go along with six digs and four total blocks. Casey Wright also reached double-digit kill totals for UAlbany with 11, while Dunja Prgomet finished with eight kills. Libero Laurie Gonzalez totaled a match-high17 digs and four service aces, while setter Abbey Wexel was just short of a double-double with 34 assists and nine digs. As a team, the Great Danes out-blocked Providence, 7-1.
Providence (10-22, AE 2-9) was led by Lauren Hendel with 10 kills, while Cassie Muzzonigro and Emily Morris recorded double-digit digs with 13 and 11, respectively. Setter Carly Morrison finished with 15 assists.
UAlbany (18-7, AE 8-2) will return to action on Friday, hosting Hartford at 7 p.m.
