Lagno Leads UAlbany to 13th Place at NCAA Men's Cross Country Northeast Regional


Madison, Conn. - University at Albany's Paul Lagno finished 34th overall and led UAlbany to a 13th-place team finish at the NCAA Men's Cross Country Northeast Regional on Saturday, Nov. 13 at Hammonassett State Park. Thirty-five teams and more than 200 runners participated in the regional hosted by Yale University.

Lagno finished the 10,000-meter course in 31:00.5 and averaged 4:59 per mile. Sophomore Ethan Clary took 58th overall for UAlbany in a time of 31:28. Other place-winners for the Great Danes were junior Chris Burke at 75th in 31:48.4, junior R.J. Sniffen at 77th in 31:49.9 and senior Aaron Lozier at 114th in 32:22.4. Leonard Korir of Iona was the individual winner in 29:36.9 and Syracuse was the top team.

In the NCAA Women's NCAA Women's Regionals, also held at Yale University, junior Ada Lauterbach and sophomore Emily Fung placed 88th and 103rd, respectively, from a field of nearly 250 runners and 35 full teams. Lauterbach finished the 6,000-meter layout in 22:00 while Fung's time was 22:10.5. Stony Brook's Lucy van Dalen took first place individually in 19:38.4 and Syracuse captured the team title.
