Cambridge, Mass. – Freshman Kendra Harrell-Vigil of the University at Albany women’s soccer team was named the America East Conference Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. She becomes the first Great Dane to be honored by the conference this season.
Harrell-Vigil was named to the all-tournament team at the Niagara Falls Classic this past weekend. The midfielder tallied her first career goal on Friday, Sept. 12 against Niagara.
The Great Danes will play all three of their games this week at home on Varsity Field. After facing Massachusetts at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, the squad will host the Governor’s Cup this weekend. UAlbany will play Army on Friday at 3 p.m. and Sacred Heart on Sunday at 1 p.m. Siena will also compete in the tournament.
