Albany, N.Y. – The University at Albany field hockey team is ranked 19th in the current STX/NFHCA Division I National Coaches’ Poll, as announced by the organization on Tuesday afternoon. The Great Danes held onto their national ranking from the preseason poll after two weeks of play.
UAlbany (3-1) defeated Cornell, 1-0, and Hofstra, 6-2, last weekend. Senior midfielder Michele Polizois earned America East Conference player of the week after recording three goals and an assist in the win over Hofstra.
The Great Danes visit the West Coast over the weekend, taking on California on Saturday and Stanford on Sunday. Both teams are receiving votes in the NFHCA Poll.
