Cambridge, Mass. – University at Albany’s Michele Polizois earned her second America East Conference Player of the Week award of the season in field hockey, as announced by the league on Monday afternoon.
Polizois, a senior midfielder, recorded three goals, all on penalty corners, in two games last week, including the game winner in a 3-2 victory over 16th-ranked Michigan on Sept. 19. She then tallied two goals in a 4-3 double overtime loss to Kent State on Sunday. Polizois, who led all players with six shots on goal against Kent State, leads the conference in scoring with seven goals and one assist for 15 total points.
UAlbany (5-3) will continue non-conference play this week, hosting Colgate in a mid-week contest on Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. before traveling to Massachusetts on Saturday. The Great Danes will return to Alumni Turf Field on Sunday, welcoming Princeton for a 2 p.m. start.
