BALTIMORE - The 2008 America East Men's Lacrosse Championship begins on Thursday, May 1 with a pair of semifinal contests at UMBC Stadium.
The tournament gets underway at 4 p.m. when second-seeded Albany takes on third-seeded Stony Brook. Top-seeded UMBC hosts fourth-seeded Binghamton in the other semifinal at 7:30 p.m.
The winners will meet in the conference title game on Saturday, May 3 at 7:30 p.m. The championship tilt will be video streamed by Pack Network and be available in the America East Zone at AmericaEast.com free of charge. Watch Live
The league champion will receive the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship, which begins with quarterfinal acton on Saturday, May 10.
The Great Danes (7-7, 4-1 America East) are in search of their second consecutive league title and fifth in six years overall. Albany, which has reached the championship game each of its six years in the conference, has won seven of its last nine games heading into the championship.
