Princeton, N.J. – UAlbany’s Laura Cummings placed sixth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase on the opening day of the ECAC Championships at Princeton University’s Weaver Stadium on Friday, May 16. The Great Danes are in sixth place with three points through one event.
Cummings, a junior from Bay Shore, N.Y., turned in an NCAA East Regional-qualifying time of 10:46.75 to earn All-East honors. The performance marked the fourth-fastest time in the program’s history. Virginia sophomore Stephanie Garcia won the event in a time of 10:19.74.
The Great Danes continue action at the ECAC and IC4A Championships on Saturday, May 16, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
