University of Albany's John Fallon Field Set to Host Major League Lacrosse Game on Saturday, June 12 - UAlbany Sports 2010

Boston, Mass. -- Major League Lacrosse, the premier professional outdoor lacrosse league, announced today that the Chicago Machine will face the Long Island Lizards at John Fallon Field on the campus of the University at Albany on Saturday, June 12, according to Commissioner David Gross. The game between the Machine and the Lizards will take place at 7 p.m.

"Major League Lacrosse is excited about coming to Albany this June," Gross said. "The region is home to many great MLL players and we think the area-fans will be delighted in witnessing the great play of favorite sons Kevin and Mike Leveille."
The Machine and the Lizards met twice last season with Long Island winning both meetings. After a 15-14 victory at Shuart Stadium on June 20, the Lizards posted a 13-11 decision in the regular season finale on August 8 at Soldier Field.

"We are pleased to be hosting Major League Lacrosse on the University at Albany campus," added UAlbany Vice President and Director of Athletics Lee McElroy. "The growth of UAlbany's Division I lacrosse program under coach Scott Marr, the number of Great Danes who have gone on to play professionally, and the caliber of the high school and youth programs in the area will make this an anticipated event for Capital Region fans."

Home to the University at Albany men's and women's lacrosse teams, John Fallon Field was completed in the Fall of 2005. The facility features a Sportexe Momentum Turf surface and is named in honor of former Albany student-athlete John Fallon, who made a significant contribution to fund the project.

Tickets for the June 12 game between the Machine and Lizards are available by contacting the MLL office at (866) MLL-TIXX or by visiting majorleaguelacrosse.com/buytickets/.

The 2010 Major League Lacrosse season begins on Saturday, May 15. The Machine will play their entire 2010 regular season as a travel team with games announced for North Carolina on May 16, Pittsburgh on May 30, Virginia Beach on June 20, Rochester on June 25, and Columbus on July 10.
