Parker Ford, Pa. - University at Albany assistant field hockey coach Andy Thornton led the U.S. National Indoor Field Hockey team to the team championship at the 2010 National Indoor Tournament held at The Training Center on March 13-14. UAlbany freshman goalkeeper Kristi Troch is a member of the squad, which went 4-0 to claim the tournament title.
Also on the team is Corrine McConville, who signed a National Letter of Intent to play with the Great Danes in 2010. A midfielder, McConville will be the third player on the UAlbany squad from Lehighton High School, following Troch and forward Alysia Hough. McConville led Lehighton to a state championship in 2009, scoring 12 goals and 17 assists.
