Albany, N.Y. - Former University at Albany All-America guard Jamar Wilson has been named to the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major All-Decade basketball team. Wilson, a two-time Associated Press All-American, was one of 26 players chosen in consultation with Division I coaches and NBA scouts.
Wilson, the 2006 and 2007 America East Conference Player of the Year, led the Great Danes to a pair of conference championships and two NCAA Tournament appearances. He finished his career as the program's all-time scorer with 2,164 points and netted 20-plus points on 50 occasions. The 6-foot-1 guard was also second in career assists with 488.
Wilson, a native of Bronx, N.Y. and a graduate of Our Savior New American School, was named to the All-America East Conference squad four times, including three first-team selections. He twice was voted UAlbany's Male Athlete of the Year.
