Albany, N.Y. -- A record crowd turned out for Friday's autograph session at New York Giants Training Camp. More than 6,700 fans were greeted by Giants coach Tom Coughlin and the entire 80-man roster following an afternoon practice on the University at Albany campus. The autograph event set a single-practice mark for a non-scrimmage session, breaking a standard that had been held since July 24, 1996. The Giants also shattered the four-day attendance record, as 15,475 have viewed practices since training camp opened last Monday.
The Giants are scheduled for two practice sessions on Saturday (Aug. 8) at 8:35 a.m. and 6:05 p.m. The team will take the field once on Sunday (Aug. 9), from 2:35-4:35 p.m.
The Giants have traveled to UAlbany for the fourteenth consecutive summer, establishing the longest period at one site in the team's training camp history. The Giants previously spent thirteen summers at Pace University in Pleasantville, N.Y. from 1975-87. The Giants, who have also trained in the states of Vermont, Connecticut, New Jersey, Wisconsin and Oregon, previously worked out at Fairleigh Dickinson University (1988-95) in Madison, New Jersey prior to their arrival on the UAlbany campus.
An all-session training camp parking pass is $15.00. The daily parking fee is $5.00. UAlbany's Dutch Quad Lot is the primary public parking facility.
