The ninth-ranked UMBC men’s lacrosse team will host America East rival Albany at UMBC Stadium in a key conference contest this Sat., April 12 at 7:30 p.m.
The game will feature a pair of fierce rivals who have won the last two America East Conference titles and both advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals last season. UMBC, (7-3, 2-0 America East) which won the league’s automatic bid in 2006, (7-3) has won six straight games entering the evening contest. Albany (5-5, 2-0), which nipped the Retrievers, 15-14 in last season’s league titlegame to claim the conference tournament crown, is on a five-game winning streak after a 15-4 victory over Yale on Tuesday.
UMBC leads the all-time series, 4-3 with five of the seven games being decided by a single goal.
