UAlbany's Brian Lillis (Urbandale, Iowa/West Des Moines Dowling) was honored as the Mid-Majority.com Baller of the Week on Monday, Jan. 7. Click here for the article.
Lillis, a senior guard, did everything in the Great Danes'80-79 overtime victory over Vermont on Sunday. Lillis scored 19 of his career-high 29 points in the second half or overtime and shot 13-of-21 from the floor. He also added seven rebounds, seven assists, three rebounds and three steals while committing just one turnover. Lillis sent the game to overtime by hitting a game-tying 12-foot jumper with 27 seconds left in regulation. He then hit the eventual game-winning basket with 27.3 second remaining in overtime and blocked the Catamounts' game-winning attempt down the other end as time expired.
