University of Albany Tennis Sweeps St. Bonaventure in Non-Conference Action - UAlbany Sports

Albany, N.Y. – Susan Ma claimed a three-game win over Manuela Marin at No. 1 singles and teamed with Laine Mackey for an 8-4 win at the top doubles spot to lead the UAlbany tennis team to a 7-0 sweep of St. Bonaventure on Sunday morning at the UAlbany Bubble.

Ma posted a 7-5, 1-6, 10-7 win over Marin at the top singles slot. Senior Kim Weltman defeated St. Bonaventure’s Maira Barousse, 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 singles, while Charlotte Tatler recorded a 6-0, 6-0 sweep of Ana Delgado at the third spot. Mackey posted a 6-1, 6-2 win over Vanessa Rumpel at No. 4 singles, while Holly Smith helped complete the sweep with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Eileen Horgan at the fifth spot. Aubrey Brooks claimed a default win at No. 6.

In doubles action, Tatler and Smith teamed up for an 8-6 defeat of Delgado and Rumpel at the No. 2 slot. Brooks and Weltman also claimed a default win at No. 3 doubles to give UAlbany the point.

The Great Danes will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 14, hosting Holy Cross at 2 p.m. at The Bubble.
