Time Warner Cable Will Televise A-East Basketball Quarterfinal Games From SEFCU Arena

Albany, N.Y. – For the first time in its history, the America East Conference Men’s Basketball Championship’s quarterfinal round will be televised. America East Commissioner Patrick Nero and University at Albany Director of Athletics Lee McElroy jointly announced today that Time Warner Cable will air all four quarterfinal games on Saturday, March 7. UAlbany’s SEFCU Arena is hosting the conference championship tournament March 6-8, with the winner receiving an automatic NCAA berth.

Rodger Wyland, sports director at WNYT-TV, the NBC affiliate in Albany, and Frank Sullivan, America East associate commissioner and former Harvard University head coach, will handle the broadcasting duties for the entire day. The first quarterfinal begins at 12 noon. In addition, Time Warner Cable (TW3) will air a sports desk segment between the two games in the afternoon and again in the middle of the two evening contests, plus provide live cut-ins of postgame press conferences.

Time Warner Cable services more than 400,000 customers in the Capital Region. TWC’s Albany Division operates one of the most sophisticated cable systems in the nation and is home to New York’s first two-way digital network. Time Warner Cable’s America East Championship coverage will also have the ability to fiber connect with its Upstate New York partners in Syracuse, Rochester and Buffalo.

All-Session ticket prices are: Chairback Seat ($55.00), Reserved Seat ($45), Child Seat ($20), Student Seat ($20, America East students only). Individual session tickets are also on sale: Chairback Seat ($18.00), Reserved Seat ($15), Child ($10, 12 & under), Student ($10, America East students only).
