University of Albany's John Moore Breaks 1,500-Meter School Record at NYC Qualifying Challenge - UAlbany Sports 2009

Randall’s Island, N.Y. – University at Albany’s John Moore broke the school record in the 1,500-meter run and qualified for the NCAA East Regional Championship to lead the UAlbany men’s and women’s outdoor track and field teams at the New York City Qualifying Challenge at Icahn Stadium on Saturday, May 9. In addition, Kyle Nadler met the IC4A standard in the long jump.

Moore clocked in a time of 3:47.73, eclipsing the old program standard of 3:47.92 recorded by Gered Burns in 2005. Nadler’s third-place leap in the long jump was 23-feet, 10.25-inches. He became the fifth Great Dane to qualify for the IC4A meet in the event.

The UAlbany outdoor track and field teams will travel to Princeton University to compete at the IC4A and ECAC championship meets from May 15-17.
