University of Albany Women's Golf Defeats Siena - UAlbany Sports 2018
The UAlbany golf team defeated Siena in the crosstown challenge, held at Wolfert's Roost on September 9th. This is the fifth straight win for the Great Danes in the competition, which is held each fall. The Great Danes finished with a team score of 300. Siena finished with a score of 332.
Megan Henry finished in first with a round score of 74, while Madison Walker and Caroline Juillat both finished with 75. Annika Espino finished next with a score of 76, followed by Helga Einarsdottir with 80 and Pasqualina Tartaglione with an 85.
"I’m very proud of our performance today," said head coach Colleen Cashman-McSween. "Starting out the season with four strong scores in the 70’s and opening with a team total of 300, I would say that is a success. It was nice to see us making lots of birdies out there and especially finishing the 18th hole with three players making birdies! We always love the Dartmouth event next weekend as we set our team record there last year. So today was a great start to the season and hopefully a sign of what is yet to come!"
On Saturday, September 15th through Sunday, September 16th, the golf team will compete in the Dartmouth Invitational at the Hanover Country Club.
