UAlbany's Brian Caufield on 2011 Inside Lacrosse/Face-Off Yearbook Preseason All-America Squad


Baltimore, Md. - University at Albany's Brian Caufield has been chosen to the 2011 Inside Lacrosse/Face-Off Yearbook Preseason All-America Team. Caufield, a senior midfielder and attackman, was an honorable mention All-America selection.

Caufield was UAlbany's second-leading scorer last year with 10 goals and 22 assists despite missing the final five games of the season with a broken jaw. He has 61 goals and 70 assists for 131 career points and ranks fifth on the program's career assists list.

A native of Bay Shore, N.Y., Caufield earned honorable mention USILA All-America honors as a sophomore in 2009. He has twice been voted to the All-America East Conference first team.

Paw Prints: In addition to Brian Caufield, UAlbany returns another first-team all-conference player from injury ... Joe Resetarits, who missed the last 11 games of the season with a broken foot, is back after scoring 34 goals a freshman ... the Great Danes reached the 2010 America East tournament championship game for the eighth time in the last nine years despite a 5-11 campaign ... goalkeeper John Carroll (.514 save percentage) and midfielder Kyle Crotty, who are among six returning starters, were on the conference's all-championship team ... Matt Mackenzie and Dwayne Stewart were members of the America East all-rookie squad.
