Princeton, N.J. - The schedule for the fourth annual Legends Classic has been finalized and the University at Albany men's basketball program will play in the Detroit subregional round on Nov. 26-28. The Great Danes meet the host Detroit Titans, Bowling Green and Niagara in the three-day event.
UAlbany tangles with Detroit, a 20-game winner in the Horizon League last season, in the second half of a 5:00 p.m. doubleheader on Friday, Nov. 26 at the school's 8,295-seat Calihan Hall. The Great Danes battle Niagara on Nov. 27 at 5:00 p.m. and Bowling Green on Nov. 28 at 3:00 p.m. UAlbany met Detroit in last year's 2K Sports Classic subregional and is facing Bowling Green, a member of the Mid-American Conference (MAC), for the first time. The Great Danes and Niagara last met in the fall of 2000.
It was announced previously that UAlbany will travel to Atlantic Coast Conference opponent Georgia Tech in the Atlanta Regional Round of the Legends Classic on Wednesday, Nov. 17 at Alexander Memorial Coliseum.
The Legends Classic is produced by The Gazelle Group in Princeton, N.J. The Gazelle Group is a sports marketing firm specializing in event production and management, client representation, and sponsorship consulting. Gazelle produces numerous nationally-recognized events, such as the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic, the O'Reilly Auto Parts CBE Classic, and the College Basketball Invitational (CBI).
