UAlbany & Stony Brook Play for America East Men's Lacrosse Championship on Saturday


Stony Brook, N.Y. - UAlbany and Stony Brook will meet for the America East Conference Men's Lacrosse Championship on Saturday, May 8 at LaValle Stadium. Face-off is 1:00 p.m. Fans can watch the game free of charge on a live stream at, www.AmericaEast.TV (presented in partnership with Pack Network). The America East Conference champion receives an automatic NCAA berth.

The Seawolves captured the America East Conference regular-season crown. Stony Brook (11-3) posted its seventh consecutive win in a 10-6 tournament semifinal victory over Vermont on May 4. The Seawolves are No. 6 in the USILA national poll and No. 7 in the Inside Lacrosse national rankings. Rick Sowell, the America East coach of the year, is in his fourth season at the helm. Jordan McBride, a first-team all-conference attackman, is second in the nation in goals (3.29 pg) and first in shot percentage (.541). Kevin Crowley, the 2010 America East Player of the Year, is first nationally in scoring at 4.86 points per game. The 6-foot-4 junior accounts for 43 goals and 25 assists and was a first-team All-America East pick for the second straight season.

UAlbany (5-10) has reached the America East Conference championship for the eighth time in the last nine years. The Great Danes upended second-seed UMBC, 11-7, in the semifinal round on May 5. UAlbany finished in a tie for second in the America East standings and earned the postseason tournament's No. 3 seed. Dave Brock is the team's leading scorer with 32 goals and six assists. Mark Kelly and Brendan Gleason, a pair of all-conference selections, direct the defense, while goalkeeper John Carroll has a .519 save percentage and leads the league in saves (11.80 pg). Head coach Scott Marr is in his 10th season. He has led the UAlbany program to four NCAA appearances.
