University of Albany Alum Lyle Thompson Named 2017 NLL MVP - UAlbany Sports 2017

ALBANY, N.Y. – Former UAlbany standout Lyle Thompson has been named the Most Valuable Player in the National Lacrosse League for the 2017 season.

Thompson won the 2017 NLL scoring title with 116 points for the Georgia Swarm off 45 goals and 71 assists. He also led the NLL in shooting percentage at .194 and had 126 loose balls picked up.

In 2017, Lyle Thompson, along with brother and UAlbany alum Miles Thompson, led the Georgia Swarm to the 2017 Champion's Cup over the Saskatchewan Rush earlier in June. The Swarm won the Eastern Division with a league best 13-5 record and a perfect 4-0 record in the playoffs.

University of Albany Earns 5th Straight America East Commissioner's Cup - UAlbany Sports 2017

 SAVANNAH, Ga. – Winning nine of 17 America East Tournament titles, the University at Albany has earned the Stuart P. Haskell Jr. Commissioner's Cup for the fifth consecutive athletic season and the sixth time in history.

 The Commissioner's Cup annually recognizes the strongest athletic program in the America East as determined by a scoring system that rewards a school for success both during the regular season and championship competition in the conference's 17 sports.

University of Albany Men's Lacrosse: Connor Fields Honored At Tewaaraton Trophy Ceremony - UAlbany Sports 2017

 WASHINGTON – Connor Fields was one of five men's finalists honored at the 2017 Tewaaraton Trophy ceremony on Thursday night at the National Museum of the American Indian at the Smithsonian.

 Fields was a Tewaaraton Trophy finalist for the first time in his career, being selected as one of the five on May 11th. He is the fourth UAlbany player to be a Tewaaraton finalist, along with Lyle Thompson, Miles Thompson and Frank Resetarits.
