UALBANY MEN’S LACROSSE ALUMNI TO PLAY FOR LEAD THE WAY FOUNDATION IN SUPPORT OF SGT. JAMES J. REGAN

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – Four UAlbany men’s lacrosse alumni are playing in Lake Placid for a great cause and are asking for your support for the Army Ranger Lead The Way Fund.
Jimmy Haugen of the UAlbany class of 2014 and Matt Carrello, Kevin Glueckert and Anthony Ostrander of the UAlbany class of 2013 with compete with Team Army Ranger in the annual Lake Placid Summit Classic in support of the Lead the Way Fund. They will play in honor of Sgt. James J. Regan, a former Duke University lacrosse player from Manhasset, New York. He served in company C, 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom when he was killed in Iraq by an IED in 2007.
Lead The Way Fund, Inc. is a non-profit organization established to raise funds in support of disabled U.S. Army Rangers and the families of Rangers who have died, have been injured or are currently serving in harm’s way around the world.
Team Army Ranger is joining forcing with the Army Ranger Lead the Way fund, gathering many alumni from Nassau County is support of the cause. Alumni from 15 different schools will be playing on Team Army Ranger, including the four above
UAlbany alumni and six Duke alumni. The Lake Placid Summit Classic is an annual lacrosse tournament going seven days with hundreds of teams from adult to youth. The four UAlbany alumni will be playing in the adult men’s open division from August 5th-7th in Lake Placid.
